Lyrics

ZOT HANUKKAH
Words & Music by Karen J Kamenetsky

On Rosh Hashanna it is written, sealed on Yom Kippur
The book is closed on Hoshannah Rabba
But it’s not back upon the shelf
Until the eighth day of Hanukkah

Zot Hanukkah, miracles can happen
There is still another chance
That through T’shuvah, destiny is shifted
Zot Hanukkah, while the candles dance

The date of Hanukkah was set when the world was brand new
For Mattathias to discover in his time
His deeds unlocked the gates of miracles
so we can draw their power into our lives

Zot Hanukkah, miracles can happen
There is still another chance
That through T’shuvah, destiny is shifted
Zot Hanukkah, while the candles dance

The power that the triumph of the Macabees revealed
Is ours as we light the hanukiah
Wonders and miracles abound each year
As the candles draw spiritual light into our world

Zot Hanukkah, miracles can happen
There is still another chance
That through T’shuvah, destiny is shifted
Zot Hanukkah, while the candles dance
